Do you charge more for areas further from Altoona?
There is no separate trip fee bolted onto the invoice. The flat rate we quote already reflects the distance, so what you are told on the phone is what you pay. What does change with distance is notice: Huntingdon, Williamsburg or Tyrone wants a day's notice where Logan Township or Hollidaysburg usually does not.
My town is not on the list. Do you still serve it?
Very possibly. This list covers the communities we deliver to most regularly, not the outer limits of where we will go. Call and ask — and if we genuinely cannot cover you we will say so rather than waste your time.
How do I know which municipality I am actually in?
A fair question, and the boundaries here really are not obvious from the street. Pennsylvania has cities, boroughs and townships, and Logan Township wraps around much of Altoona — so a great many Altoona mailing addresses are actually in the township. Give us the full address and we will confirm before we quote.
Am I inside the City of Altoona or somewhere else?
Worth knowing, because it decides whose rules apply. Logan Township is the common one — it is a township rather than part of the city, though it is one of the three IRC members with Altoona and Hollidaysburg, so recycling requirements broadly track the city's. The boroughs — Duncansville, Bellwood, Tyrone, Roaring Spring, Martinsburg, Williamsburg and Newry — each set their own, and Claysburg and East Freedom sit inside townships rather than being boroughs at all.
